Webinar Series: High-Performance Computing Center Foundations
Michigan State University’s Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (ICER) is excited to announce the Fall 2024 High-Performance Computing Center Foundations Series. This non-credit, three-part webinar series is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the foundations of high-performance research computing using ICER’s High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC).* Contact ICER's training coordinator, Mahmoud Parvizi (parvizim@msu.edu), with questions.

Part - 1 ‘Ready’
- Monday, October 28th, 10:30am - 12:00pm

- Tuesday, November 12th, 1:30pm - 3:00pm 
Part - 2 ‘Set’
- Wednesday, October 30th, 10:30am - 12:00pm 
or
- Thursday, November 14th, 1:30pm - 3:00pm 
Part - 3 ‘Go’
- Friday, November 1st, 10:30am - 12:00pm 
or
- Tuesday, November 19th, 1:30pm - 3:00pm 
Learning Objectives
Part - 1: ‘Ready’
- Understand the HPCC hardware e.g., core, node, cluster 
- Understand the HPCC software e.g., operating system, command language 
- Understand the HPCC file system e.g., home space, research space, scratch 
Part - 2: ‘Set’
 
- Understand the HPCC software module system 
- Install and build new software on the HPCC 
- Securely transfer Big-Data to and from the HPCC 
Part - 3: ‘Go’
 
- Develop and test workflows on the HPCC 
- Run workflows on the HPCC 
- Monitor workflows on the HPCC
