Michigan State University’s Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (ICER) is excited to announce the Summer-2026 R on the High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC) webinar. This non-credit, training webinar is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the tools for using R for research computing on ICER’s HPCC.*

* Participants need an active HPCC account to access the HPCC. If you do NOT have an active account, please see our documentation page Obtain HPCC Access.

The prerequisites for meaningful participation in the hands-on exercises are listed below.

  • Active ICER HPCC account
  • Basic understanding of the HPCC resource environment and the SLURM scheduler
  • Basic competency with R and GNU/Linux Operating Systems

The learning objectives for this training are listed below.

  • Understand R modules on the HPCC
  • Understand R user environments on the HPCC
  • Use the OnDemand web portal to launch an R-Studio Session on the HPCC
  • Use R packages to parallelize processes
