Webinar Series: High-Performance Computing Center Foundations
Michigan State University’s Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (ICER) is hosting a webinar series on the foundations of the high-performance computing center (HPCC). This non-credit, three-part series provides a hands-on introduction to the foundations of high-performance research computing using ICER’s HPCC.
Participants need an active HPCC account to access the HPCC. If you do not have an existing account, please see our documentation on Obtaining an HPCC Account.

Monday, January 26th, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm or Tuesday, February 3rd, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Learning objectives:
Understand the HPCC hardware, e.g., core, node, cluster
Understand the HPCC software, e.g., operating system, command language
Understand the HPCC file system, e.g., home space, research space, scratch
Part 2: Set
Wednesday, January 28th, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm or Thursday, February 5th, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Learning objectives:
Understand the HPCC software module system
Install and build new software on the HPCC
Securely transfer Big Data to and from the HPCC
Part 3: Go
Friday, January 30th, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm or Tuesday, February 10th, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Learning objectives:
Develop and test workflows on the HPCC
Run workflows on the HPCC
Monitor workflows on the HPCC
