What Will Happen to the HPCC Account if You Are Not Affliated with MSU

Many users asked what will happen to their accesses on HPCC after they leave or are no longer associated with MSU. Will they still have access to their HPCC accounts and the data stored there? 

The answer to this question depends on the aliation of the MSU NetID. For HPCC account holders who has MSU NetIDs aliated with MSU, his account will not be deactivated. However, if the NetID becomes unaliated with MSU, we will email the user that the account will be closed. The user can ask his HPCC account sponsor to contact the MSU ID oce (http://idoce.msu.edu/- contact.html) and renew the NetID to become aliated with MSU. The sponsor may need to work with his department to go through the process of Department-Sponsored NetID and pay a very minimal fee. After the MSU NetID is renewed, the HPCC account sponsor can let us know and we will reactivate the HPCC account. Please note that we do not delete data stored on HPCC. We simply move them to a dierent storage space. When a HPCC account is reactivated, the user is able to use HPCC as before.
