Python Programming Basics
In 10hrs or less, this non-credit, self-paced, completely asynchronous workshop introduces you to the Python programming language. This workshop covers data types including strings, data structures like lists, tuples, dictionaries, and sets, and programming fundamentals such as conditions, loops, and functions. The workshop concludes with participants generating their own Python code. No prior programming knowledge is required for this workshop, but you will need access to Python. ICER HPCC Resources and Concepts
In about one hour, this non-credit, self-paced training course introduces resources provided by the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (ICER) at Michigan State University including ICER's High Performance Computing Center (HPCC). No prior knowledge is required for this course, but you will need a free ICER account. You will need an MSU NetID to get an ICER account. Instructions to get an ICER account are included in this course.
ICER's OnDemand Resources
In less than an hour, this non-credit, self-paced training course introduces OnDemand Resources available to utilize the High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC) provided by the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (ICER) at Michigan State University. Introduction to Linux Using ICER's HPCC
In around four hours, this non-credit, self-paced training course introduces how to utilize the High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC) provided by the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (ICER) at Michigan State University using Linux. You are expected to have completed the free one-hour ICER HPCC Resources and Concepts course in D2L prior to starting this course.
Introduction to ICER's HPCC
In around three hours, this non-credit, self-paced training course completes your introduction to utilizing the High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC) provided by the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (ICER) at Michigan State University using Linux. You are expected to have completed the free four-hour Introduction to Linux Using ICER's HPCC course in D2L prior to starting this course.
Jupyter Notebook Basics
In less than an hour, this non-credit, self-paced training course introduces you to Jupyter Notebooks and demonstrates how to use notebook features. The course provides example notebooks and a project where you create your own notebook, which is reviewed by a real instructor. No prior knowledge is required for this course, but you must have access to Jupyter Notebook. ICER's DMZ Globus Training
In less than one hour, this non-credit, self-paced training course introduces MSU's demilitarized zone (DMZ) and how to transfer large files using Globus to endpoints such as the High-Performance Computing Center (HPCC) provided by the Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research (ICER).
