The prerequisites needed for this course are listed below. 

  • Existing MSU ICER HPCC account 
  • Basic competency with R 
  • Basic understanding of the ICER HPCC environment, Linux and SLURM 

The learning objectives for this course are listed below. 

  • Understand the R module system on the HPCC 
  • Use the command line to generate and execute R scripts 
  • Use SLURM to submit R scripts and workflows to the HPCC compute cluster 
  • Use the OnDemand web portal to launch RStudio on the HPCC 
  • Use the doParallel and pbdMPI packages to parallelize with R  

*** Attendees are required to bring a Wi-Fi-enabled laptop to the workshop ***
