The prerequisites needed for this course are listed below.
- Existing MSU ICER HPCC account
- Basic competency with Python
- Basic understanding of the ICER HPCC environment, Linux and SLURM
The learning objectives for this course are listed below.
- Understand the Python module system on the HPCC
- Understand Python environments on the HPCC
- Use the OnDemand web portal to launch a Jupyter notebook on the HPCC
- Perform basic profiling of Python code
- Understand basic vectorization in numpy
- Use the Numba package to parallelize a loop
*** Attendees are required to bring a Wi-Fi-enabled laptop to the workshop ***
